On 1 September 2004, having seen a Remote-I advertisement for a system that seemed ideal for my needs, - using a model helicopter for commercial photography and filming -, I ordered the following from Rhandal Sayat:
1x G-CamCopter SE w/ri-250PLT -Ported/AutoStart/900mm
5x JR DS8411SA -5 Servos/90 Degree CCPM
1x Futaba GY401 w/S9251
1x Futaba GV1 Governor
1x CamControl -LANC/ACC -Sony/Canon
1x ri-G1 GroundStation System
and paid a deposit, US$ 5,795.00.
Rhandal Sayat told me it would take six weeks to deliver the Camcopter, but they would send me the other items, the Camcontrol, and the Ground Station immediately.
I agreed to the 6 weeks delivery time for the Camcopter, but made clear that was the latest I had to have the unit because I had scheduled to have the unit certified by CASA, the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority.
After 3 months, being given a variety of excuses for the delays every time I contacted Rhandal, I cancelled my order and demanded a refund.
Now a year has gone, and still waiting for my refund, I registered complaints with the following US government bodies:
Santa Barbara Police Dept ( Detective Andrew Hill )
California District Attorney ( Complaint Number 5786381 )
FTC ( Complaint Number 5884810 )
I have a complete record of all my communications with Rhandal Sayat, including faxes, emails and attachments to verify my claims.
Four months ago I was able to contact Rhandal Sayat, and he promised to refund me in 2 weeks. But nothing has happened.
